After checking our precinct and cluster room assignment in preparation for the upcoming Election Day on May 12, I honestly thought we were heading straight home. I was already thinking of what chores to finish next. But little did I know, my eldest daughter had something else in mind.
Out of nowhere, she insisted that we take a tricycle ride. I didn’t question it—just followed along, still clueless. It wasn’t until we stopped in front of the Green Bread, located at the 2nd floor, Coronet Bldg. 3, Quimpo Blvd., fronting Felcris Centrale, that I realized: this was a surprise. A lovely Mother’s Day treat, one day early.
I wasn’t even dressed for a “surprise,” just in my usual casual wear because I truly thought it was just another errand day. But it turned into something unexpectedly heartwarming.
The Green Bread is such a cozy spot to dine in. With ample parking space, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and an inviting ambiance, it's the kind of place where you can both unwind and work in peace. It's also open daily from 12 noon to 12 midnight—perfect for early brunches, casual dinners, or even late-night food cravings.
Here’s what we enjoyed from their menu:
* BREAKFAST 1 – Bacon, Malunggay Pandesal, Egg Sunny Side Up | P170
* BREAKFAST 2 – Spam, Malunggay Pandesal, Egg Sunny Side Up | P185
* Chicken Pesto with Fries | P189
* Strawberries & Cream (Drink) | P165
* Honey Ginger Tea (16oz) | P120
* Malunggay Frappe | P165
The food was satisfying and beautifully plated. I personally loved the refreshing twist of their drinks—especially the Malunggay Frappe! However, just to be honest, their Malunggay Pandesal wasn’t exactly to my liking. Taste preferences vary, and it just didn’t quite match my palate. But overall, it was still a good meal shared with my daughters, and that made everything special.
To top it all off, Green Bread currently offers lovely Mother’s Day packages, perfect for surprising the special woman in your life. Whether it's a dine-in date or a takeaway box of goodies, they’ve got sweet treats prepared with love.
Visit their Facebook page to inquire and check out their full menu. You just might find your next go-to place for casual eats, work-friendly brunches, or intimate family bonding moments.
Verdict:
Surprises don’t always come in fancy wrapping. Sometimes, they come in the form of a thoughtful tricycle ride and a hearty meal in a cozy café. Thank you to my daughters for reminding me that it’s the simple moments that count.
Green Bread is a hidden gem in the city—perfect for those looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy hearty meals, especially with loved ones. The food is well-prepared, with generous servings and a health-conscious twist, while the ambiance is warm, clean, and inviting. Though I wasn’t a big fan of the Malunggay Pandesal, everything else made up for it—the drinks were refreshing, the service was quick, and the vibe was relaxing.
Whether you're celebrating a special day like Mother’s Day, working remotely, or just craving something new, Green Bread is a worthy stop. Bonus points for being open daily, 12 noon to 12 midnight, and having ample parking and fast Wi-Fi.
