Ramona’s Grill & Restobar Davao: Honest Food Review of Bulalo, Seafood Bilao & Crowd Favorites

Ramona’s Grill & Restobar Davao — An Honest Food Review

When it comes to discovering comfort Filipino food in Davao City, I’m always on the lookout for places that offer generous servings, familiar flavors, and a relaxed dining vibe. Ramona’s Grill & Restobar is one of those spots where the food speaks for itself — simple, satisfying, and meant to be shared.

Here’s my honest food review based on what we tried and genuinely enjoyed.

Crispy Chicken Skin — A Perfect Starter

One of my personal favorites at Ramona’s is their Crispy Chicken Skin. It’s perfectly crunchy, well-seasoned, and not overly oily — which is honestly rare. Whether you’re dining with friends or just looking for a good appetizer, this dish is addictive and best paired with good conversation.

Seafood Bilao & Bilao Supreme — Best for Sharing

If you’re visiting as a group, the Seafood Bilao and Bilao Supreme are absolute must-orders.

The seafood is fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned - Baked scallops, Calamares, Shrimp, Tuna Belly, 4 unli rice. What I love most is how balanced the flavors are — not too salty, not overpowering, just right.

The Bilao Supreme is especially sulit because it offers variety in one large serving, pork BBQ, chicken BBQ, Tuna Belly, Scallops, 4 unli rice,  making it ideal for family meals, celebrations, or barkada gatherings.

Bulalo — Comfort Food at Its Best

Their Bulalo is pure comfort. The broth is rich and flavorful, while the beef is tender and satisfying. This is the kind of dish you order when you want something warm, hearty, and filling — perfect for sharing and best enjoyed with rice.

Banana Split — A Sweet, Nostalgic Ending

To end the meal, we had their Banana Split, and it was the perfect dessert choice. Simple, classic, and nostalgic. The balance of sweetness from the bananas, ube ice cream, and toppings makes it a great pang-tanggal umay after a heavy meal.

Ideal Venue for Small Gatherings & Celebrations

Aside from the food, Ramona’s Grill & Restobar is also a great option if you’re planning a small private gathering. They accept events for up to 30 persons, with a ₱7,500 consumable package. The setup includes an air-conditioned private room with TV and karaoke, making it perfect for birthdays, family celebrations, reunions, or intimate parties where you just want to eat well and enjoy the moment.

Ramona’s Grill & Restobar is not about fancy plating or experimental flavors — it’s about good Filipino food done right. The servings are generous, the dishes are satisfying, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

This is the kind of place you bring your family, friends, or loved ones to enjoy a laid-back meal without rushing.
