ChaTime at SM Lanang Premier #GoodTeaGoodTime #BubbleTea #ChatimePH

Trending topic here in the Philippines last month is about the contaminated milk tea that killed 2 people. And it was a very frustrating scenario for those who have business concerning milk tea. Not that I sworn, but I promise myself not to drink milk tea again. This is why I avoided going to malls, because I know I will be tempted in buying again.

Here in Davao, there are two milk tea shops found using expired ingredients. Even then I persnickety about it and have all sworn off all milk tea shops, so happy to found out that ChaTime is not included in the list.

CHATIME: Good Tea. Good Time

I am a coffeholic person but things change when I tried ChaTime milk tea for the first time.

ChaTime serves the best and most authentic Taiwanese bubble tea, a tea specialist focusing on modernized Taiwanese tea culture.

One of the biggest international bubble tea brands that only listed beverage provider in the Taiwan stock exchange. Now, they have over 600 milk tea shops worldwide in Taiwan, Malaysia, China, USA, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, Dubai, and in the Philippines!

In Davao, Chatime is operated by Fruitea Philippines Inc., located at the SM Lanang Premier Atrium right beside French Baker Inc.

Their best-selling beverage is the signature Chatime Pearl Milk Tea, which is the first milk tea drink I got to try.

What's with the Bubble Tea?

The bubble refers to the foam created by shaking the tea, this they called the foamy/frothy tea.

The blacky, chewy tapioca pearl mix in a milk tea is a match made from heaven. Which force someone to order more cups because it is so sweet and milky, and that is too addictive!(BEWARE)

There are many variants to choose from, but the Pearl Milk Tea for me is the most popular and the best milk tea at Chatime.

Too much will lead you to something not good, so if you like to drink milk tea...drink moderately.  ;)

I am not a big hot drink person, however these do seem interesting from ChaTea, I would definitely give them a try. Love that there is lots of choice.

  2. What dreadful news! I am a big fan of Bubble Tea - I recently tried it for the first time in Boston's China Town last week. I had the original with tapioca balls :)

  3. I haven't tried Chatime but I heard they have good beverages. I'm a fan of Bubble Tea from another brand/store so that's what I'll try firs

After the incidents about the milk tea, people became paranoid which is understandable. Customers should just be careful where they buy their drinks from.

  4. I love bubble tea and the chewy tapioca pearl. I can finish that big plastic cup in one sitting. But yes, too much can be bad for you.

  12. I've heard of that bit of news too and got scared for my family and friends in the Philippines because I know they love milk tea or bubble tea! Good luck to ChaTime and I hope their products and service will eventually bring back some of those who got scared from buying more teas.

  13. My standard order is their signature Pearl Milk Tea. It's so soothing and refreshing. I have tried other types of tea too but still prefer Chatime.

  14. Wish someone had told me this when I went KL previously. I had breakfast/tea at Chatime then, but the food (scones and laksa) didn't work for me..

  16. Looks great! But beware of the hidden sugar in these bubble teas even when choosing a lower sugar level - and all those toppings like "pearls" really add up...
