Cafe Gervacios: A Cozy Davao Café That Warms the Heart and the Appetite

If you’re looking for a café in Davao City that feels like home — where the food is hearty, the drinks are comforting, and the staff make you feel genuinely welcome — then Cafe Gervacios at CM Recto is a spot you shouldn’t miss. Whether you’re a coffee lover, a tea drinker, or just someone who enjoys relaxing in a cozy place with good food, this café hits all the right notes.

A Simple but Satisfying Start

I began my visit with a cup of Green Tea (P110) and Gerry's Brownie (P125). The brownie stood out — it was super bitter but in a deliciously rich way, thanks to the use of pure cacao. It’s definitely for true chocolate lovers who enjoy that deep, natural flavor. Paired with the mild warmth of green tea, it was the perfect way to start my meal.

🍗 The Main Event: Honey Glazed Chicken Salad with Waffles

For my main dish, I ordered their Honey Glazed Chicken Salad with Waffles (P410) — a combination that immediately caught my eye on the menu.

The chicken was flavorful and tender, perfectly glazed, and the salad was fresh and crisp.

However, I did notice it was a bit oily, probably because the honey glaze mixed with the natural oil of the chicken. Still, the flavors worked harmoniously together — sweet, savory, and filling.

But the real standout? Their waffles! 🧇

They were perfectly cooked — crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right hint of sweetness. I loved them so much that I took some home for my mom — and she instantly became a fan, too!

🥐 Takeout Treats: Breads You Shouldn’t Miss

Before leaving, I couldn’t resist trying some of their famous bread for takeout. I ordered:

* 🧀 Cheese Sausage Bratwurst – ₱420
* 🥖 Sourdough Croissant – ₱95
* 🍫 Pain au Chocolat – ₱150

They come in a takeout box of 3 worth ₱22, which makes a great gift or pasalubong option.

For both dine-in and takeout, my total bill was ₱1,332, and honestly, for the quality, taste, and experience — it’s worth every peso.

Café Gervacios is more than just a café; it’s a warm corner in CM Recto that serves comfort on a plate. The staff are incredibly nice, the location is easy to find, and the food — especially the waffles and croissants — will have you coming back for more.

Whether you’re dining in or taking out, this cafe gives you that feeling of satisfaction and homely comfort that only a few cafés in Davao can offer.
