During my recent visit to SM Davao, I decided to indulge in a comforting meal at the Mandarin Tea Garden Restaurant located on the Ground Floor. Known for its authentic Chinese flavors and a cozy ambiance, this restaurant has always been a favorite spot for food lovers in Davao. This time, I tried a few of their popular dishes, and I must say, it was a feast to remember!
Wanton Soup: A Bowl of Warmth and Comfort
I started with the WANTON SOUP, a delightful bowl of warmth that immediately set the tone for the meal. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a light yet savory taste that complemented the wanton perfectly. Filled with tender meat and vegetables, offering a satisfying bite in every spoonful. It’s the kind of dish that wraps you in comfort, making you feel right at home.
Congee: A Taste of Tradition
Next, I moved on to the CONGEE—a staple in Chinese cuisine. This bowl of creamy rice porridge was incredibly soothing, with a subtle flavor that’s perfect for those who love simple yet hearty dishes. I particularly enjoyed the way it was cooked to perfection, achieving that ideal balance between thickness and smoothness. It was topped with fresh herbs and a dash of soy sauce, adding just the right amount of flavor to this comforting classic.
Dim Sum: Bite-Sized Perfection
No visit to Mandarin Tea Garden would be complete without trying their famous Dim Sum! I ordered a selection of their best offerings, the SHARK FIN. Each piece was crafted with care, bursting with flavor and showcasing the delicate balance of ingredients. It's tender and juicy, had a wonderfully chewy texture with its plump filling. It was a delightful mix of tastes and textures, ideal for sharing or enjoying all on your own!
Jasmine Tea: The Perfect Ending
To complete my meal, I opted for a pot of Jasmine Tea. The fragrant aroma of jasmine flowers paired beautifully with the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. It was light and refreshing, cleansing the palate after a variety of flavors. Sipping on the warm tea was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the final moments of my meal.
Mandarin Tea Garden at SM Davao never disappoints. From the delicious wanton soup and the heartwarming congee to the bite-sized delights of dim sum, every dish was a celebration of authentic Chinese flavors. The friendly service and inviting atmosphere made the experience even more memorable. If you're in the mood for a comforting and satisfying meal, I highly recommend paying a visit!
Until next time, happy eating! 😊
