TAPS Busog Pinoy in Davao

For 29 years, this homegrown fast food counter that brought TAPSILOG(tapa, fried garlic rice known as SINANGAG, and egg) in Davao City, that one can enjoy 24 hour service meal, has grown more widely to more than 5 branches and now moving up by inviting more Franchisees in Tagum(Davao del Norte), Digos(Davao del Sur) and outside Davao Region.

TAPS started from a humble beginning in Malvar St., Davao City. A wooden food counter with an open-air, stool and counter-type of service.

They only have 25 stools, a five-man staff includes dishwasher, a cook, a cashier and two counter personnel.

Building, expanding, renovating and upgrading stores to cater the people well.

One of the TAPS first air-conditioned branch is located at Governor Duterte Street, though the make-over is more of their Marketing Strategy to compete with other fastfood chain and draw more customers. But food they serve are still the same and now starting to offer new items in MENU.

From its original concept as BREAKFAST KIOSK in Davao they extend 24 hour service to target more students, office workers, churchgoers and those who are in a hurry to eat.

NEWLY RENOVATED TAPS BOLTON

One of the newly air conditioned branch they have is TAPS BOLTON.

Heard so much about this place, regarding the banner poster they've posted in their store---the controversial banner, BAGA'G NAWONG(in English, effrontery/rude
behavior!)

Last Araw ng Dabaw celebration I have the chance to visit the store and see one of the banner poster(PART 2).

The story behind the controversial banner is pertaining to a certain group of people, who stay there from 8am-5pm or until closing just to order a cup of coffee and a Milo with their snack bought outside the store, as if they're using TAPS as their office for networking.

Unprofessional or weird, but they need to STOP people from staying there too long(management is tired of telling them again and again not to stay longer), that is why they come out with this poster thingy. Just to remind those people that they are not the only customers, that they have to accommodate more customers to eat and dine at their store.

PLACE

The place is new, there are lots of tables and chairs.

Clean and well ventilated, but I find it too small for big gatherings.

But still I like and I miss the classic TAPS design.

Food tastes still great, only problem is that the food being served is very little. For me, it is not affordable if they want to market their store to budgeted student and workers.

SERVICE

In spite of this, TAPS still remain top in the mind of Dabawenyos as far as TAPA and with the 'LOG is concerned. They domain this market throughout the years, catering fresh and food safe to eat.
